Spring Break

When Je has Spring Break, the whole family suddenly becomes very busy. Yesterday was my (Ki) first day home this week. Last week was my spring break, and I didn't have the time to really do school even if I had wanted too. This is a summary of what I did each day:

March 17th Finished up my school from the week before and made a Raspberry Pie.

March 18th Mommy had a birthday!! I had both my piano and violin lessons, which Je chauffeured me too. Je and I also did the grocery shopping while we were out.

March 19th Went car shopping for Je, but didn't find anything. The car must not be black, white, red, or yellow. Also the car must be a four-door, be in our price range and have anti-lock brakes. We are Very picky. We also went out to eat to celebrate Mommy's birthday.

March 20th Finally I stayed home. Mommy and I started two nightgowns for me in the afternoon.

March 21st The whole family went to see my Grandma. For lunch we ate at Cracker Barrel. On the trip we listened to Providential Battles by Bill Potter. They were very interesting. In the morning it was a beautiful spring day, but by the evening it was a horrible snowstorm.

March 22nd Daddy and Je both worked in the morning. Mommy and I about finished my nightgowns. In the evening we went to some people's house for supper. We had delicious enchiladas, a rice corn mixture, a tossed salad, and layered pudding dessert to eat. Also, we enjoyed a good time of fellowship. The people must have done some research on us, because they had our favorite salad dressings and they were even the right brand. They also served us enchiladas, and we're (at least I am) a big fan of Mexican food.

March 23rd We all went to church and rested, (once we got back home that is).

March 24th I started back up on school. I had my I year check-up on my retainer and my teeth.

March 25th The day of the Book Bomb on the rebelution.com. Do Hard Things made it to number 5 on Amazon!!! Also, Je's place of employment had their ground breaking for their new building.

March 26th The ladies volunteered at International Aid from 9-2:30. We worked with orthopedic supplies all day. In the evening I had the privilege of playing the piano for Wednesday night church.

March 27th Finally, a day to focus on doing some school. I was able to get lots of it done, and about all caught up.

March 28th, Today-I did miscellaneous things this morning. Tonight all the aunts, uncles, Grandma, and probably a couple of the cousins, are gathering at my uncle and aunt's house for a game night!!

The Book Bomb

Today over at therebelution.com, young people from around the world have come together to buy Do Hard Things on Amazon. The goal was to try to move Do Hard Things to the top of Amazon's bestsellers.

I've been following the statistics on both Amazon and The Rebelution all day. About 10:15 a.m. I placed my order. Last I checked these were the rankings on Amazon. To God Be the Glory!!

Bestsellers: #12
Hot New Releases: #4
Movers and Shakers: #4
Religion and Spirituality: #4
Christianity: #2
Christian Living: #1
Youth Ministry: #1

Guest Post by Je (the older sister)

Je is done with this quarter of school, so Mommy told her she is to post today on our blog. She is quite reluctant.... by Ki

Now here's Je:

I made it through this quarter of classes with all A's, I think. I still don't have an official grade from my Phlebotomy class. I am so glad to be done with all the pokes and prodding. All I have left now is my review class for the certification exam and my externship.

So far on my spring break I have had a chance to read for fun including the comics Grandma L. gave us. (I have read all of January's now.) and I have also been watching lots of episodes of Season four of Emergency. We are trying to watch as much as possible of the DVD before it is due back at the library on Monday.

Ki enjoys that I am home more now that I'm on spring break. Her spring break is next week, but I don't know how much of a break she will take as it seems like she is speeding through school as fast as she can. She hopes to have all her high school work finished by next January.

Wednesday and Friday

I didn't think anything of note had happened in the last week, so I read my journal, and actually plenty had happened, I'd just forgotten.

Wednesday, Daddy and Mommy left Je and I for the whole day. I was able to get a ton done while they were gone-both household tasks and school. The night before, I had made myself a tight schedule to follow, and that certainly helped me be able to get a lot done.

Also on Wednesday, I was saddened to hear Huckabee had dropped out Tuesday night. As far as I've heard, we haven't decided yet who to vote for in November. At least we have quite a few months yet, to decide.

Je has finals next week, which the whole family is excited about. After finals, she doesn't have to go back to school till April!!

Every Friday night, we do something as a family, usually watch a DVD. But last night, we decided to drop in and visit, Mrs. Anderson, a friend from church. We sat and chatted a while and then went to do her grocery shopping for her. We all enjoyed visiting her and doing something different on a Friday for a change. After we got back home, we watched the movie, Heartstrings. The movie is one of my top 5 favorite movies, if not my favorite.

On Friday nights we, as a family, can tend to become quite silly. While I was eating a nectarine, and Je and I were talking to Mommy. Je twisted my hair around the chair, without me knowing about it. Mommy had to tell me what Je had done.

Next week, I'm cutting out material to make myself a summer nightgown, in the watermelon print on the right. The material on the left is for a winter nightgown, and I don't know when I'll cut it out.

Don't forget to set your clocks, an hour ahead today. A couple of years ago we found it best to set the clocks ahead in the middle of the afternoon on Saturday. That way we just eat supper and go to bed earlier.
