Our Wonderful Black & White TV has about Died

In August, my family and I watched much of the Olympics on our b&w TV. Originally, Daddy got the TV before entering college. Sadly the TV's on and off switch quit working many, many years ago; so we just used the plug to turn it on and off. It was the only working TV we had until I was 10 years old. Countless programs and shows have been watched on it. Since it is small and portable, we used it for watching programs while doing dishes and sometimes eating a meal. One of the consequences of having an older TV was sometimes the best way to receive a good picture was putting a foot on the antenna or doing some other interesting thing. The Beijing Olympics weren't shown on a channel our color TV could pick up, but our b&w, which can pick up countless channels, could. After about 10 days of happy watching of the Olympics, half the screen went blank. At least the sound is still clear. It's not worth watching anything on the b&w anymore.

Thank you b&w for the memories. We'll miss you!
